The Glennie Nature Competition 2018

The Melbourne Camera Club congratulates the following members who won an award and gained acceptances at the The Glennie Nature Competition held in U.S.A

Lesley Bretherton’s image “Jokulsarlon Lagoon Midnight” won Best in Category - Landscape.

Jane Barnes’ image “Say Ah” received a merit in Reptiles.

Tuck Leong’s image “Crepidotus Nephrodes” received a merit in Botany.

Marg Huxtable’s image “Soldiering On” received a merit in Marine Life.

Portrait Masterclass - 13 May 2018

The next portrait Master Class, to be held on Sunday May 13, 2018 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.

With a maximum of 10 photographers, there will be 2 professional models, make-up artists and 3 hours of photography. If you are into portrait shooting then this is for you. 

This event is now FULL. You can register now to waitlist for the August 11 Class.  Everyone on the waitlist will be offered priority booking.  Cost is $90 for club members, or $130 for non-members.

April 2018 Photowalk Community - Street Art Photography - Fitzroy

Our April Photowalk will focus on Street Art Photography in Fitzroy. As there is a fair amount of walking please come prepared. We plan to have a couple of short rest stops in the local pubs/wine bars so that we can keep the group together. We will conclude with dinner at a local pub.

All visitors and members of MCC are welcome.

March 2018 Photowalk Community - Melbourne Yarra River activities and Fireworks

Our March photowalk will centre around Moomba activities / events including shooting Fireworks. We will start with a short walk shooting images of the city and activities along the Yarra prior to shooting fireworks. We will have a short intermission during the photowalk to have some dinner at a local pub prior to setting up for the fireworks shoot. 

David Gilliver from the Melbourne Camera Club will provide a short tutorial on shooting unique Fireworks images. 

There will be some walking hence please come prepared. 

2018 International Women's Day Photography Exhibition 

YOU'RE INVITED to attend the Opening night of the 2018 International Women's Day Photography Exhibition on March 1 at 8pm. 

The exhibition is a celebration of International Women's Day, involving MORE THAN FIFTY PHOTOGRAPHERS and over 200 prints! There will be photographs by women who are Victorian Photography Club members, Professional Photographers and Emerging Photographers, plus there will also be a selection of historical works by outstanding female photographers of the past.

February 2018 Photowalk - Waterfront Williamstown

Our first Photowalk for 2018 will be around Williamstown Waterfront and heritage buildings. 

Meeting Point : Outside Hobson Bay Visitor Information Centre, Cnr Nelson Place and Thompson St.
