ProShow Gold - The Basics for Making AVs
MCC Audio Visual Group is holding a workshop for any MCC member interested in AV-making.

When:? Saturday August 15th 2009 ? 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM;
Where: Upstairs Gallery, MCC clubrooms;
What to bring: Your own PC (see below for details)
Registration: You must register with, and have received your acceptance from, the course coordinator This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by August 8th, 2009.

This hands-on instructional workshop is available for MCC members wanting to learn, on their own computer equipment, the basics of making ProShow Gold AVs with the help of experienced AV Group members.

Places are limited (maximum 10-12) due to space limitations in the upstairs Gallery.

If you secure a place on the workshop, you will receive, via email, a detailed pre-workshop list of requirements, including FREEWARE software, images and audio loading and testing exercises, and image requirements. The pre-workshop exercises are essential so we can get straight down to AV-making at the actual Workshop rather than having computer problems taking up valuable workshop instruction time.

On the day you must bring your PC (laptop or desktop) and set it up in the Upstairs Gallery ready to start at 9:30 AM. Your PC Operating System should be either Windows Vista or Windows XP and the three software packages listed below should be installed and working properly. Also, you will need to bring digital images and audio tracks, also loaded onto your PC.

  1. Registered ProShow Gold software or trial registration from Photodex with the limited number of trial days covering the workshop period (NOTE a 20% discount for MCC members is available - email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it );
  2. Freeware Audacity for Windows version 1.2.6 plus add-ons for audio work;
  3. Freeware IRFANview version 425 plus add-ons for photo editing software;
  4. Between 20 to 50 related digital images of your choice, from which to make trial AV(s), loaded onto your computer;
  5. Audio/Music tracks of your choice in WAV or MP3 format with play-times between 2 - 5 minutes duration, also loaded on your computer.
