Our end of year Portrait Group meeting is going to be an
outdoor shoot at St Kilda this Monday, December 7.
Gear: This is
going to be the big issue on Monday, as none of the Club's gear will be coming
out on the night. If you have on camera flash, off camera flash solutions,
reflectors, ideas and techniques to work with (read www.strobist.com for some ideas) bring them
all along. If you don’t have all of that, still come along and hopefully others
will share some ideas and techniques on how to step up your photography in
evening light without the boost of studio lighting.
Time: 6:30pm to
dusk/evening depending on how geared up photographers are for shooting at night.
Place: Around St
Kilda Beach
Meeting point:
Pier Road, beach side of Catani Gardens
Shooting Locations:
Beach along Pier Road, Catani Gardens, St Kilda Beach, St Kilda Pier
Map: http://maps.google.com.au/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104096776127648743691.000479f02b25998abe487&ll=-37.861844,144.970683&spn=0.003566,0.006663&t=h&z=16
Weather: Late
isolated showers and 25km/h winds are forecast at the moment for Monday afternoon,
so hopefully conditions will remain suitable. The shoot will be going ahead regardless
of the weather, and will only be cancelled should a severe storm rain out the
location around 7pm, in which case we may return to the Camera Club for a
studio shoot.
We're expecting around 20 – 30 photographers, and at least 5
models to be in attendance, so you will be working with smaller groups of
photographers during the evening.
If you have modelling friends who may be interested last
minute, happy for you to bring them along.
