Photographic Exhibition

"IN A WORLD OF THEIR OWN"

by

Bronwen Casey  EFIAP MAPS SSVAPS

This framed exhibition will be held at the Melbourne Camera Club.

A selection of Bronwen's photography will be on display but, most especially, the exhibition will feature the full set of original prints with which

Bronwen was awarded her

Master of the Australian Photographic Society in 2008.

This set of images is about people.  Not just portraits of faces but a portrayal of an aspect of their lives or the world in which they live. Anything from the way they earn a living to their hobbies or their daily life. It is about the person beyond the face that you see.

The set of colour images encompasses individuals from across the world, a cross section of people in different nations with different cultures. The supporting monochrome set is once again people but focuses specifically on the people of China. It captures them in their daily lives, from the fields to the streets. The colour and monochrome sets each have a slightly different focus and a different style of composition. Both are about people in a world of their own.

Location: Melbourne Camera Club , nr.  Dorcas and Ferrars Sts, South Melbourne

Times:
Sat 20th & Sun 21st  February  1.00 - 5.00 p.m.
Thurs 18th Feb, during below Presentation - 8pm start

Presentation

IN CONJUNTION WITH THE ABOVE EXHIBITION, Bronwen Casey will be speaking at the Melbourne Camera Club on Thursday 18 February at 8.00pm. The title of the presentation is:

"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players" (William Shakespeare).

Bronwen will be presenting a cross section of her photographic work but with a specific focus on people photography and theatre photography.  Her digital slideshows will include images from her travels overseas, many of which have been successful in international competition. She will also digitally present the folio of images with which she gained her Master of the Australian Photographic Society (MAPS) skill honour in 2008. The above print exhibition of this MAPS set of images will also be on display during this evening.

The Melbourne Camera Club extends a warm invitation for photographers and friends to attend Bronwen's Presentation and Exhibition.
