Outing: Public Gardens of East Malvern
Tuesday, 21 June 2011, 10:30 - 14:00 Hits : 368

CAMBERWELL CAMERA CLUB OUTING

The next outing for all CCC and MCC members will be on Tuesday 21st June to the Public Gardens of East Malvern.

Investigate how public gardens interact with surrounding communities.  Central Park in East Malvern is a fine example of a Victorian public garden.  Just a short walk away, via Kardella St, is Hedgeley Dene Gardens – which is more in the style of a natural garden where there is a distinct interaction with adjacent houses.  Here also we can observe the role of the Glen Iris Wetlands in maintaining the environment.  On the return to Central Park via Wattletree Rd we pass two of the three original mansions in the area, Valentines and Brynmawr.

As there is little shelter on this walk it will be cancelled if the weather is unsuitable for photography.

Meet at 10:30am in Central Park, East Malvern (Melway 59 G10).  It is suggested that you park in either Central Park Rd. or Kingston St. or travel on the Number 5 Tram.

Co-ordinator Peter Brady can be contacted on 0409 189 272.
