CCC Mid-week Outing

Camberwell Camera Club Mid-Month Excursion, Tuesday, 20th March

Our excursion in March will be to Docklands.

This is a rapidly changing district of Melbourne, so even if you have already been there, it is changing so quickly that you will discover many new features- architecturally striking new buildings, new vistas, most inventive street sculptures, and not forgetting the huge Ferris wheel. All very photogenic objects.

The most convenient way to travel there is to catch a train and alright at Southern Cross Station.

Cross the land bridge over the railyards at the northern end of the Station and walk to Etihad Stadium. On the north- western side of the Stadium is Channel 7. This has an outdoor-indoor café/restaurant, Broadcast Café, with the semi-circular sign  ‘7 Melbourne’ above it. We will meet there at 10.30am.

The suggested plan is to walk along the promenade of Waterfront City and then through the Harbour Township Centre to the Ferris Wheel. After that we can walk back to look at the next ‘arm’ of Docklands, ‘Victoria Harbour’, or catch tram nos. 70, 75 or 35 (Free Tram Zone) back and alight near the colourful NAB HQ at Victoria Harbour.

We'll have lunch at The Nixon hotel (to be confirmed)
