CCC Mid-Week Outing

Melbourne Central Cemetery

I have lived in Melbourne for most of my life, but until I had decided to plan this excursion, I had never been to the Melbourne General Cemetery.

What an interesting place it really is! It is like a mirror of our history. Its grave stones include those of famous people who have left their mark on our city, as well as the waves of migrants who have settled here over the last 180 years. So this should be a very interesting excursion.

It will be on Tuesday 21st August. We will meet at 10.30am at the Intersection Café on the corner of Lygon and Elgin Sts. In Carlton. The Café has an underground car park next door, as well as being at the tram stop no. 112. Catch trams no 1 or 6 up Swanston St to get there. In fact any tram going to Melbourne University will do, you would just have a longer walk to get to the Intersection Café.

Lunch will be at the Kent Hotel, cnr. Rathdowne and Curtain Sts.
