CCC/MCC Mid-Week Outing

The National Sports Museum

For someone who is not particularly interested in organized sport, my recent visit to the National Sports Museum ‘blew me over’.

It is excellent.

The exhibits range from 19th century paintings of local cricket matches in county England, the hand written rules for the first Australian rules match in 1857, to the bathers of recent Australian Olympic swimmers. You can even see a technically clever film clip of Shane Warne explaining what he tried to do on the cricket pitch, that is. The Museum entrance is on the north side of the MCG. There is an entrance fee of $21,-.

We will meet at 10.30am in the cafeteria, which is inside, off to the left of the ticket booth.

Come, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
