Thursday 3 May 7pm—8pm (or by prior arrangement with Exhibition coordinator)

EXHIBITION OFFICIAL OPENING NIGHT AND EVENT

Thursday 17 May at 8pm

EXHIBITION OPEN TO PUBLIC FROM 10AM TO 5PM

Saturday 19 May

Sunday 20 May

ARTWORK COLLECTION FROM MELBOURNE CAMERA CLUB

First Thursday evening after Exhibition closes or subsequent Thursday evenings

2. HOW TO ENTER

  • Submit completed and signed entry form with your prints on May 3, 2018
  • Deliver your work to The Melbourne Camera Club on the specified dates
  • Collect your work on the specified date/s after the Exhibition closes from the Melbourne Camera Club
  • Each work must be mounted and measure 400mm x 500mm, ready for installation
  • Please clearly labelled all prints on the reverse with the following details:
      • Artist/Photographer Name
      • Work/s title and Number
      • Your contact details (Email or Phone)

 

3. ENTRIES

  • The number of entries is limited to a maximum of 10 images per member: -
          • 5 Prints
          • 5 PDI’s
  • Changes to artwork or titles will not be accepted after entry forms and works have been submitted.
  • This is a free exhibition. There is no entry fee. 
  • Entrants are invited to submit a low resolution JPEG of their entry to be used for the promotion of the Members Theme Exhibition on the Melbourne Camera Club Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages via email to mcc-exhibitons@melbournephoto.org.au
  • Please also note that the Melbourne Camera Club may or may not use your image for promotion
  • All work submitted must be available for display across all dates of the exhibition.
  • Work submitted will not be for sale as there are no retail facilities available in the gallery.
  • Artists with a series consisting of two or more images must provide instructions for the installation of their work.
  • We have an all care, no responsibility policy. With such a large number of works to install, although we take all care we cannot take responsibility for damage made to work submitted to the exhibition.
  • All works must be ready for installation when dropped off.
  • We accept unframed work on paper; ideally with mat board and/or backing.
    • The Melbourne Camera Club prefers to pin prints around the mat board. The pins are not inserted into the print or mat. This is our preferred method for hanging prints in the gallery
    • Unframed works only
  • Prints must not exceed 40cm x 50cm or 16in x 20in (this includes borders)
  • PDI’s should be formatted as follows:
    • Maximum width and Height dimensions of 1920 x 1200 pixels
    • File should be 2MB or smaller
    • File to be saved as JPEG Files and in sRGB colour space

 

4. DELIVERING AND COLLECTING WORK

  • Prints must arrive at the Melbourne Camera Club on or before Thursday May 3
  • If dropping off work prior, please make arrangements with the Exhibition Coordinator
  • Works can be collected on the first Thursday after the Exhibition closes, i.e.: May 24 or on evenings of Thursday General Meetings

 

5. PRIZES

  • There will be a prize awarded for a People’s Choice award for the 2018 Members Exhibition – Theme: Travel
  • The Artist’s work with the most votes, will be be awarded the winner of the People’s choice award.  
  • Every person who visits the exhibition is entitled to one vote. Multiple votes per person will not be valid. Only valid votes will be counted. 
  • People’s Choice Prize winner will be announced the next business day, after the final day of the exhibition on social media and in our magazine, Exposure.
  • All completed ballot forms will go into a draw with one lucky voter drawn for a prize

 

6. FURTHER CONDITIONS

  • The Melbourne Camera Club Exhibition Coordinator reserves the right to make selections for the exhibition that may be determined by available space.
  • All entries will be displayed (subject to space) unless deemed offensive, too fragile, dangerous or not ready for installation.
  • If you are photographing children, you must refer to protocols developed by the Australia Council (australiacouncil.gov.au) before entering your work
  • Insurance is the sole responsibility of the entrant
  • All care will be taken, however The Melbourne Camera Club will not be responsible for any loss or damage caused to the work, howsoever caused.
