Melbourne Camera Club Fund Raising
As you most probably know the club is expecting to require more than $400,000 over the next 15 years to restore and upgrade the club building. The Board is hoping to implement a fund raising strategy over a number of years to ensure that the money is there to spend when it is needed. In addition to seeking grants, we hope to come up with other fund raising ideas too. For example, one suggestion was for club members to donate prints to the club which the club could then sell at markets to rise money. If you have a fund raising idea please email your suggestion to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

MCC/VAPS Slide Competition

The Melbourne Camera Club will once again sponsor the Victorian Association of Photographic Societies slide competition in October. We would like an MCC member to volunteer to coordinate this competition. For more information or to express an interest in helping out please contact Andrew Gyopar?

If you entered the club's After Dali competition a few years ago, you have a potential entry for the NGV's Photography Project - Searching for the Surreal Image. More details on their website.

ProShow Gold and ProShow Producer Special Offer

John Spring has negotiated a 20% discount for financial MCC members wishing to purchase Photodex's ProShow Gold and ProShow Producer software. You will need to contact John to obtain the special code. Visit this page for more details.

New MCC Role

These days we are getting quite a few visitors coming along to the club and we need to make sure they feel welcome and want to come again. Various people, on an ad hoc basis, have been chatting to the newcomers but it has now reached a stage where there needs to be a more formal arrangement in place.

Andrew would like to form a team of "Welcomers", who can seek out those people looking lost and take them under their wing to explain the workings of the club and introduce them to others. If you would like to take on such a role, please contact Andrew Gyopar to discuss the details.

Council Positions

Nominations for Council positions open on 23rd July 2009. If you would like to be part of the great team looking after our club put your name on the list then.

Introduction to Photography Course

The next course starts in August and Andrew has requested that members start thinking about whether they can assist at the course, particularly on the Sunday sessions. Dates are in the program (printed) and will be on the website soon.
